VISION

島んちゅぬ映画祭 — Shimanchu Islander’s Film Festival in Ishigaki は、日本最南端の石垣島を舞台に開催されます。石垣・八重山は、アジアの外交・安全保障の最前線にありながら、豊年祭に象徴されるような強い共同体意識＝世界でも稀に見る Sense of Togetherness が有機的に育まれてきた地域です。
この映画祭は、その独自の文化的土壌の上に、映画を通じて「楽しむこと」と「深く考えること」を島の人々と共に体験する場として設立されます。地域の祭事のように、島人（しまんちゅ）が主体となって築き上げ、国内外から集まる観客や映画人を迎え入れながら、文化交流と国際対話を育む「世界で唯一無二の映画祭」を目指します。


The Shimanchu Islander’s Film Festival in Ishigaki is held on Japan’s southernmost island, Ishigaki. This region is geopolitically unique, positioned on the frontline of Asia’s international affairs, yet deeply rooted in a rare sense of togetherness embodied in traditions such as the Hōnen-sai harvest festival.
Our festival aspires to create a space where both “enjoyment” and “reflection” are shared experiences between the island community and visitors from around the world. Like a local festival, it will be built by the hands of the islanders themselves, welcoming international filmmakers and audiences while nurturing cultural exchange and dialogue. In doing so, we aim to establish a film festival that could only exist here—one that is truly one of a kind in the world.

Submission Guidelines

応募条件

  • 2025年1月1日以降に完成した60分以上の作品であること

  • ​募集作品数は10作品

  • ジャンル・テーマは不問

  • 日本国内の動画配信サービスで、一般公開されていない作品であること

  • 上映形式は Blu-ray またはデジタルデータ（DCP不可）に対応できること

  • 作品の上映権を応募者（製作者／セールス担当／エージェント）が直接保有していること

  • 日本語以外の言語による作品は、英語字幕が必須。さらに、日本語字幕付き作品は選考で優遇されます

  • ⽇本国内の未公開作品が優先的に選考される

 

著作権・音楽使用について

  • 上映に関わる一切の権利処理は、応募者（製作者または権利保持者）の責任で行ってください。

 

試写素材の提出方法

応募時には、以下のいずれかの方法で試写素材をご提出ください。

  1. オンライン試写リンク

    • 申込フォームにて、パスワード付きまたは限定公開の試写リンク（Vimeo／YouTube等）をご記載ください。

  2. ディスク送付（Blu-ray / DVD）

    • 郵送が必要な場合は、下記住所宛に試写素材をお送りください。

    • 送付されたディスクは返却できません。映画祭終了後、適切に廃棄処理いたします。

Eligibility

  • Films completed on or after January 1, 2025 with a runtime of 60 minutes or longer

  • No restriction on genre or theme

  • Works must not be publicly available in Japan through online streaming platforms prior to the festival.

  • Must be deliverable in Blu-ray or digital file format (DCP not accepted)

  • Screening rights must be directly held by the applicant (filmmaker / sales agent / representative)

  • For films in languages other than Japanese: English subtitles are mandatory. Works with Japanese subtitles will be given preferential consideration

  • Priority will be given to works not yet screened at other film festivals or film events in Japan, in order to introduce fresh discoveries to audiences.

  • As a rule, preference will be given to works not yet theatrically released or presented at any film festival or event in Japan.

 

Copyright & Music Rights

  • All rights clearance related to the screening of the film is the sole responsibility of the applicant (filmmaker or rights holder).


Submission of Preview Materials

Applicants must provide one of the following:

  1. Online Screener Link

    • Please provide a password-protected or private screening link (Vimeo / YouTube, etc.) in the application form.

  2. Disc Submission (Blu-ray / DVD)

    • If online submission is not possible, preview discs may be sent by mail to the address below.

    • Discs will not be returned. After the festival, they will be appropriately disposed of by the organizers.
